Eight Mile Plains State School Resource Centre was opened in 2010. Its bright colours and new furniture welcomes all who come and visit. It is a space that is always full of activity with students visiting to borrow books and make use the computer lab. It’s a space where students can spend time developing a love of reading or play games with friends during lunch at Kids Club.
My name is Mel Kroeger and this year you will find me in the Resource Centre on Tuesdays, Wednesday's and Thursday's. Over these three days I get to see every student in the school as they come and visit me for their class Library time. Each week students have the opportunity to borrow a book to take home. Books can be borrowed for a week and are returned the following week during their class Library Lesson.
Volunteers are a vital part of Eight Mile Plains State School and are always more than welcome. We encourage parents, grandparents and members of the community to become involved and help out where they can. There are always books that need re-shelving or new books to be covered.
